Is it really the end of the White Guy?
Hopefully. But you’ll need to see what that means in the film! It has nothing to do with hate and violence and everything to do with love, reconciliation and being human.
What does “Black Adam” mean?
It’s about shaking up categories of identity. It’s about rejecting shallow and inherited explanations in favour of rethinking who we truly are. It is not a literal attack on the biblical Adam, just like “the end of the white guy” is not an attack on people with pale skin.
Few have put it better than one fan of the conversation; “Black Adam…very cleverly juxtaposes…the race/colour issues through the use of the word “Black” and then borrows from the Judeo Christian faith the name “Adam” taking us back to the concept of the first humans…the film takes one through an epic journey that integrates many themes while emphasizing their links and connectivity. Asking the question “Who am I?” unravels layers of baggage carried by individuals with linkages to other contemporary issues of global relevance. Ultimately, by stripping this baggage, the naked truth is exposed - we are all the same under the skin.” Dr. Himla Soodyall, Genographic Project’s representative in South Africa, Discoverer of “Eve”.
Who is the Director / Producer?
Maybe Guinea Pig is a better way of putting it. This is Dominic’s first feature documentary. He didn’t anticipate the deep shifts it would cause in the way he sees himself and the world. But even after two years of developing this story, it’s just the beginning…with the unscripted conversation ahead. To find out more about Dominic’s company, see threadmediagroup.com.
Why This Story, Director Guy?
Although it’s taken some time for me to figure it out (!), the motivation for the story is simple. Most of the conflict in the world revolves around identity. This coupled with the fact that we live in an integrated world of limited resources means conflict is on the rise. It’s a recipe for disaster. We need nothing less than a deep tissue paradigm shift in the way we do life. We need to rethink who we are and who we want to be as Human Beings. I want to know if I can undergo that paradigm shift. If even I can - a normal guy - then surely there’s hope.
Who is the Co-Producer?
The brilliant and award-winning people at Luna Films.

Where is God in all of this?
If God is part of your story, he’s part of this story. Dominic is bound to be challenged on his religious views. Why don’t you level the challenge?
Is this anti/religious?
Black Adam is not anti/religious. Most of the world believes in God in one way or another. Faith is a vital part of our Human experience. But some people put faith in something other than God. In many ways, this story is about exploring where we should put our faith.
What is Whiteness?
Whiteness is not about pigmentation or any single individual. Well, not really. It is more about a world view; the way those who are identified as white see the world and how the world sees them. Whiteness Studies is a discipline of Critical Race Theory which argues that race, all race, is socially constructed. Well, is it? Or are we fundamentally different, never truly to see eye to eye?
